The actual driving part of the test will last for approximately 40 minutes.

During this time you will follow instructions from the examiner for roughly 20 minutes, and for the other 20 Minutes you will drive independently, using a Sat Nav, or following road signs. You will be asked to perform One manoeuvre, and possibly an emergency stop.

You will also be asked One of the 7 ‘Show Me’ safety questions, and you will be expected to give the answer whilst driving. However if you are struggling to find the correct control, you may pull up safely, find the control, and then move off again, before showing the answer.

Below are all 7 questions and their answers.

1. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you wash and clean the rear
   windscreen? *** (see diagrams 2 & 3)
2. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you wash and clean the front windscreen? *** (see diagrams 2 & 3)
3. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d switch on your dipped headlights? *** (see diagrams 2 & 4, turn dial to ‘Dipped Headlights’ icon)
4. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d set the rear demister? *** (see diagram 1 , Arrow 4)
5. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d operate the horn? *** (See Diagram 1 , press center of Steering Wheel )
6. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d demist the front windscreen? ***(see  Diagram 1 , Arrows 6 – move all dials to green windscreen icons )
7. When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d open and close the side window? Press the button on the door.
